CONTENUR presents a new edition of its Corporate Social Responsibility Report

In line with the 2030 Agenda: SDGs applied in specific actions

The strategy reflected in 2020 CONTENUR’s new edition of its Corporate Social Responsibility Report, published in April this year, is a roadmap that includes very stringent environmental, social and excellence commitments with high added value for the company and society as a whole.

SDGs are a guide that CONTENUR may use to identify whether its labour, economic and environmental impact contributes value to society and, consequently, strengthens its reputation and relations with various stakeholders.

CONTENUR has undertaken to make firm progress in some of these goals, generating positive impact for society and the planet. It is not enough to avoid any negative impact. We must help generate positive impact to everyone’s benefit, moving forward in sustainable development.

What SDGs is CONTENUR directly working on? Throughout the Report the company’s lines of action are described, specifying which of the 17 SDGs are impacted by CONTENUR’s strategies and plans.

The following SDGs have been the object of corporate action:

Environmental

All action taken to protect the environment and to fight against climate change (SDG 7, SDG 9, SDG 11, SDG 12, SDG 13, SDG 14, SDG 15 and SDG 16) seeks to encourage an efficient use of resources and to prevent the generation of waste, to protect biodiversity, and to develop products and processes that reduce the carbon print. All of this has been carried out through the Circle® project,  enhancing our achievement of the first  OCS  (Operation  Clean  Sweep®) certification in our sector in Europe, which guarantees that no pellets are discharged into the sea.

Labour

In this section and in line with  SDG 1, SDG 3, SDG 5, SDG 8 and SDG 10, the company has undertaken a series of commitments towards its employees, associated to generating and retaining talent, diversity and inclusion, equal opportunities between men and women and occupational health & safety.

Economic

CONTENUR’s objective on the matter, in line with SDG 8, SDG 9 and SDG 17, is to become a market reference in product and process quality, which involves (amongst other measures) certifying its products and processes in line with international rules and specifications of reference.

Another key goal for the organisation is to maintain the company’s leading position in sector innovation, reinforcing sustainable development, ecodesign in product creation and as part of its commitment to help generate friendlier and more environmentally responsible cities.
